Microenterprise Morning Tea a Success!

Valued Lives hosted a successful Microenterprise Morning Tea at Heathcote Reserve in November, where information was shared on the Valued Lives Microenterprise Project (MEP).

As many people do not sit snugly within the currently defined parameters of funded DES supports, they are looking at creating new opportunities to do something unique including developing a Microenterprise.

A microenterprise is a very small, highly individualised business that is simple to start, with minimal capital needed for investment. It gives people with disability a role in their local community by providing services or goods, while creating the space for the microenterprise owner’s passions, interest and skills to develop

The MEP team at Valued Lives shared with the audience the various ways in which they can help a Microenterprise owner to discover their passion/ideas to develop their business, guide them in the creation of their business plan and link them with mentors in their local community.  It is entirely doable for anyone with a passion, an idea and a team of supporters!

The audience was hungry for as much information as possible around the setting up of a microenterprise and had many questions for the panel of microenterprise owners at the morning tea who shared their experience and answered a myriad of questions.

One of the other tools the Valued Lives Microenterprise Project has made available for its’ participants is an Australia wide online directory where their business can be advertised at no cost.  This free directory can be accessed here:
